(BLIS) Building Lifecycle Interoperable Software
Jun 15, 1999 – Dec 31, 2002
BLIS is a coordination project — coordinating the implementation efforts of vendors seeking to support IFC R2.0 in applications that will ship in 2001. While the project participants are IAI member companies, BLIS is not an IAI project. IAI projects focus on requirements and specification of the IFC model. BLIS supports implementation of IFC specifications in software products. Participation in BLIS is a decision by each company invited by the existing participants. It is not related to other decisions these companies make with regard to participation in IAI projects.

IFC Model Server Development Project
Jun 1, 2001
IFC Model Server Development Project by VTT and SECOM Intelligent Systems Lab The first version of IFC Model Server was developed by VTT Building and Transport and SECOM Co., Ltd. The IFC Model Server provides model server functionality over the Internet, such as import/export of IFC models in XML and STEP Part21 format. By using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) for communication between the model server and client software, the model server functionality can be utilized by heterogeneous systems such as web browsers and Java implementations. SOAP also guarantees the technological independence for the client application developers.

Building Information Model server (BIMserver)
May 1, 2010
The Building Information Model server (BIMserver) software enables you to host your own BIMserver to centralize the information of any construction (or other building related) project. The core is based on the open standard IFC and therefore knows how to handle IFC data. The BIMserver is nót a fileserver; IFC data are interpreted by a smart core and stored in an underlying database. The BIMserver software is free and open source.
