Book 4 of Makers of the Environment

The following outlines the content and chapters of Makers of the Environment Book 4:

Social networking systems, tightly integrated web conference systems, BIMSynergy, and rules-based decision-making tools, work together to engage decision-makers, wherever they are at the time. National Hurricane Center issued a watch for Hurricane Edgar. Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, public works staff, and emergency management leaders are the backbone of the first-responder community. Soon after the start of the Labor Day weekend, Edgar is 480 miles southeast of Kiptopeke, Virginia with winds of 110 miles per hour. Not since the Chesapeake Bay Hurricane of 1933, has a major hurricane tracked right up the Chesapeake Bay. Fact based decision-making tools improve public trust and compliance, simplifying emergency management. Pete Jarvi posted contingency plans for response, assessment of damages and recovery.

August 31 to September 4, 2022 Kiptopeke, VA to Ocean City, MD

Soon after the start of the Labor Day weekend, Hurricane Edgar is 480 miles southeast of Kiptopeke, Virginia with winds of 110 miles per hour. Not since the Chesapeake Bay Hurricane of 1933, has a major hurricane tracked right up the Chesapeake Bay. The storm of 1933 killed eighteen and had a record storm surge of 9.8 feet in an area where a five foot surge is considered a once in a hundred year event.

By including information modeling technologies into the cutter’s systems, the Coast Guard has taken one more step toward a fully integrated decision-making system. While in transit, the Nestor’s crew is helping to find the terrorists and in storm preparation. The storm’s path is shaping up to make this storm one of the worst disasters to hit the Chesapeake Bay in almost eighty-three years.

Response

Police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, public works staff, and emergency management leaders are the backbone of the first-responder community. Bombs exploding on vessels in a key port area are a significant departure from the set of events that first responders are trained to handle. The same information that supports building, business operations, maritime conditions and other things that influence the built environment enable them to respond with high levels of situational awareness.

Situational awareness

Storm winds of 95 miles per hour and steering winds at 20 miles per hour are predicted at landfall. Pete Jarvi’s system manages continuous live data feeds. Thirty-two dead and one-hundred-twenty injured from the terrorist attack are showing on the system now.

Sep 4, 2022 Delmarva Peninsula

Data from the emergency response system provided live weather feeds and first responder status throughout the storm. Social networking systems, tightly integrated web conference systems, BIMSynergy, and rules-based decision-making tools, work together to engage decision-makers, wherever they are at the time. Real-time collaboration tools provide emergency management leaders greater situational awareness.
